First Post… Frosthaven!

My early attempts at miniature painting. They are… just okay, unfortunately.

Aw, man, first posts are hard.

I guess I’ll talk about Isaac Childres’ board game epic — FROSTHAVEN. It’s a sprawling encounter-based adventure for one to four players, with puzzle-y card-based combat, set in the frozen north of this not-so-typical world.

My partner and I have been playing since I came back from Antarctica in February. It’s been glorious, and I think we picked good partnerships. I’ve heard a few of these classes are not as easy to play solo. It’s currently a permanent fixture on our dining table, and we’ve been eating on the couch. Freya was cuddling and almost put her head in my plate once.

I’ve also tried my hand at painting these too-tiny sculpts. I usually consider myself passably artistic, but it’s so difficult at the beginning! I’ve watched lots of tutorial videos, primed in black, used underpainting, but the results are never as meticulous as I hope. I’ll keep improving though!

I’m… out of things to say for now. Cheers!
